What is a Bitfinex lending bot?

An automated order-placing software tool: connect your Bitfinex API key and it places lending offers on the Bitfinex funding market 24/7 according to your strategy. This service is not a financial institution, an exchange, or an investment advisor.

What annualized rate does lending earn?

Lending rates float with market supply and demand in real time — there is no fixed number. See the live FRR table and trend chart on the Market page. Past rates do not predict future rates, and returns are not guaranteed.

Do I need to transfer funds to you?

No. Your assets always stay in your own Bitfinex account; the API key only authorizes placing orders — this service cannot withdraw or move your funds.

You get my API key — can you move my money?

No. When you generate the API key on Bitfinex, enable the Funding permission and leave Withdraw off — this is also what the setup guide walks you through. Without withdrawal permission, the service has no technical means to move or withdraw anything from your account. You can disable or delete the key in Bitfinex at any time; once disabled, no further offers can be placed for you.

How far does the Free plan go? Do I need a credit card?

No credit card needed. The Free plan gives you a 3,000 USD lending cap, a check every 60 minutes, one currency, and up to 5 concurrent offers. Paid plans raise the cap, shorten the check interval to as little as every 2 minutes, support more currencies, and allow more concurrent offers. The service is still in beta with limited seats — if seats are full when you sign up you join a queue, and we notify you when a spot opens.

What are the risks of lending on Bitfinex?

Key risks include: the operational and security risk of the exchange itself; the risk that a borrower position cannot be liquidated in time during extreme volatility; currency risk on USD-denominated assets; and the risk that funds sit idle, earning nothing, while unlent. Rates are set by market supply and demand and change at any time; past data does not indicate future results. This service is an automated order-placement tool and provides no investment advice.

Once funds are lent out, can I get them back any time?

No. Once an offer is filled, the funds return only when the borrower repays early or the term ends — lenders cannot demand early repayment. This is a Bitfinex rule, not a limitation of this service. If you expect to need the funds soon, reserve an amount in the bot settings so it is never offered, or shorten the offer term so funds cycle back more often.

What is the minimum to start? Why is a small balance never lent out?

Bitfinex sets a minimum size per lending offer (about 150 USD equivalent; the figure published by the exchange governs), so odd change below that cannot be offered on its own. The system keeps that balance and offers it once repayments bring the total above the minimum, so a small unlent balance for a while is normal.

My funds have been offered for hours and still are not lent — why?

Lending works by order matching: an offer fills only when borrowing demand appears and accepts your rate, so waiting hours or longer is normal. The higher the rate you offer, the longer the wait tends to be. The system re-offers idle funds as market conditions change, but fill time and fill rate are ultimately set by the market.

When is interest paid? Is the rate shown net of fees?

Bitfinex settles and pays accrued interest daily, calculated on actual time lent — you do not wait for the whole loan to be repaid; the schedule published by the exchange governs. Bitfinex also charges the lender a platform fee on interest earned, so the amount credited is lower than the headline rate implies. Treat the credits in your Bitfinex account as authoritative.

Is earned interest automatically re-lent, or do I handle it?

Automatically. When a term ends or a borrower repays, the system re-offers according to your existing settings — no need to reconfigure. Interest credited to your account becomes offerable balance and is included once it reaches the exchange minimum. To keep part of your funds out of lending, set a reserved amount in the bot settings.

Do I need to keep my computer or the page running?

No. Offers and re-offers run in the cloud according to your settings — closing your computer or browser, or being away from your phone, changes nothing. Log in any time to review current offers and history.

Which currencies are supported? USD only?

Not just USD. Your plan sets how many currency bots you can run at once: 1 on Free and Standard, 2 on Business, 3 on Business Pro, unlimited on Business Pro Max — each with its own offer settings. Which currencies you can pick (USD, USDT, and others) depends on what this service currently supports and what Bitfinex lists in its funding market.

How do I cancel my subscription? Can I get a refund?

Right now paid plans are a one-off annual prepayment in USDT: no card on file, no recurring charge, and it simply expires at the end of the term — so there is nothing to cancel. When it expires the account returns to Free with your history intact. Card payments (Stripe, monthly or annual) do auto-renew and can be cancelled at any time, but that backend is not live yet, so no card payment is actually created today. Fees already paid are not refunded pro rata; see the payment and refund notes on the Plans page.

Which plan should I pick? What actually differs between Free and paid?

Plans differ on four measurable things: the lending cap, how often the system checks and re-offers (Free every 60 minutes; paid tiers every 15, 10, 5, or 2 minutes), how many currencies you can lend, and how many concurrent offers you get. Run the Free plan for a while first, see how your capital and habits behave, then decide. We do not project returns from your balance — actual outcomes depend on market rates and fills.
